Our Leadership
Senior Pastor Don (& Sue) Freeman
Don and Sue came to Regent University in 1986, from Canada and
Miinneapolis, for degrees in Biblical Studies and Educational
Administration. They married in 1990 and finished up their honeymoon in
Alsace, France, where they learned to appreciate all things French.
(They also taught in a Christian school and helped plant a church.)
They returned stateside in December 1995, and Don has been the pastor
at Peninsula Vineyard since 1999. He's grateful for whatever national
organization has declared chocolate to be one of the food groups.
Worship Leader Keith (& Tammy) Caughlin
Keith and Tammy joined the Peninsula Vineyard in 2001 shortly after
relocating from Las Vegas, Nevada in June of that year. Both having a
musical background, they were married in 1989 and have been leading
worship together for 18 years. They have one very wacky 17 year old cat
named Priscilla.
The Pastor's "A-Team":
Horace (& Amelia) Avila
The Avilas have been married for 27 years and have been blessed with
eight (8) lovely children, all of them boys except for seven (7).
Horace retires from 30 years of service in the Navy in April '07.
Amelia has home-schooled all of their children. They are grandparents
of a beautiful granddaughter . . . yes, another girl. God does have a
sense of humor! The Avilas joined the Vineyard in 1998, and it has been
a fun rollercoaster ride ever since.
Keith (& Tammy) Caughlin
Patrick (& Kimberly) Smith
Patrick is a native Virginian, having lived in this area off and on for
very many years. His favorite things in the world are his relationships
with God; his wife, Kimberly; and his son, Shane, 11. He also works as
an Educational and Developmental Psychologist, helping children and
adolescents. At the Vineyard, he helps the Pastor, prays, teaches, and
directs. Patrick's most comfortable job is analyzing and
re-structuring. He, Kimberly, and Shane have been at the Vineyard since
1999.
Roy (& Tabitha) Thomas
Roy and Tabitha Thomas were born and raised in India. They made the
Peninsula Vineyard their home church in 1995 when they moved to the
Hampton Roads Area from Northern Virginia. Together, they host a
kinship at their home in Williamsburg. They also head the Hospitality
Team and serve in the Children’s Ministry. They home school their
two daughters, Christine and Leah. Roy is always plotting his next
spine-tingling travel adventure.
Office Manager Angela Anglin
Children's Church Coordinator Jenna Pool
Jenna found her home in the Vineyard in
1997. She has volunteered with the kids ministry in some form or
another for over 15 years now and her passion and love for all things
munchkin continues to grow with each passing year. Whether she's
Chef-ing it at her restaurant or painting topsy-turvey motifs on the
church walls, jumping out of perfectly good airplanes or raising money
for kids armed with only a tub of whipped topping and a creative
imagination, Jenna's zest for an abundant, exciting, and adventurous
life is infectious and endears children to her. Her favorite things in
life: anything orange, sushi, lightening and thunder, playing in summer
rain, autumn, traveling, power tools, and Fraggle Rock. To quote author
Nicole Johnson of Fresh Brewed Life, "We only live once, and if we do
it well, once is enough." For Jenna, once will surely be enough.
